The Big Gender Reveal

Today was the day we have been waiting 19 weeks for, the gender ultrasound! I of course barely got any sleep, and woke up at 5 am like a giddy little kid on Christmas just waiting for the clock to strike 2:20 p.m. Of course my crazy pregnancy dreams didn't help with the sleep factor. This morning I actually dreamed it was the day of the ultrasound, but also the first day of school. So what would any crazy pregnant teacher do...turn it into a field trip and take my whole class. Then it got even stranger when I left them in the waiting room unattended with giant pink and blue sprinkle cookies and then took a last minute poll of what they thought I was having. There were only 3 votes for girl, and as I walked through the door, I thought "ha most of you are wrong!" and then I woke up wanting to know even more.

Back to reality...Until about two weeks ago I really didn't have any strong hunch about what we were having, and then I suddenly got this instinctive feeling it was a girl. Aside from the recent cravings for all things sweet, other signs were my aversion of chicken, and that I am carrying low and wide. I went into the ultrasound pretty confident I was right, and after a few minutes of looking and probing, we got the confirmation...Baby Sattler is a GIRL. A very active, squirmy, perfect little girl. Today her heartbeat was 148, we counted 10 adorable little toes and everything else looks great. And of course I had to drag Brian out to immediately start shopping after we left. What can I say, I held off buying anything for 4 months, but I could no longer put off the urge to buy.  Here are a few pictures from our appointment today of our sweet little doodlebug:

Her beautiful face!

Practicing her Yoga poses!

The Money Shot!  No Doubt a Girl!!!
